My instructors words were that as you're approaching the top, turn sorta sideways in the lift so that you've already got your board facing 'foward' and then what I usually do is once the board is flat on the ground, is I tend to stand up on it almost immediately and all weight on the front foot, 'loose' foot against back binding, or else even just right beside front foot works too... and I just let the chair of the lift push me forward.

If you wait too long then there's not a hope in hell of getting all your weight on the front foot though because the board will have already started to go down the little incline bit that follows and you'll still be back by the chair, so that's why I like to stand up a little early and just let the chair push me the rest of the way

No idea if that helps or not

Yea I do the samething turn so the faces the lift once the snow is under it push right or left(if ur reg or goof) against ur binding and let the chairlift push u the rest of the way down try not to make and sudden moves. So phoned the other halfs rents who are up at hemlock currently and they have gotten about 2 feet of snow today and last night so tomorrow should be a great day if u guys can get up there be warned though roads will not be in the best condition with constant snow falling and all.

I was up at hemlock ut didn't get to the skiing part unloaded the truck full of wood before snow started again then went out on the snowshoes and then decided it was time to get out of there after we finished lunch when the snow was coming down like crazy and didn't wanna get trapped up there like 2 months ago when they shut the road down.
