1976 Scout

Just made a deal for one on Sunday, with a fair amount of rust and a engine that half runs.... Gonna start this up as a build thread. No pictures yet but I should have some up by the end of the week.

it has the 304 in it (but the guy says it orignally had a 345 which is out of the vehicle but came with it) and it has a 4 speed standard. The one problem though is i live on the island.... but if i do need parts we might be able to work something out

Which would you suggest for the suspension? SOA or custom 4-link?

for cheap but still flexy SOA and if ya hog the fenders and tubs out enough you can clear 37'S but move the front axle forward 1 or 2 inches when you make youre axle perches

So i got the Scout late last night. Today i had the day off so i started to do some work on the Scout. I got one of the worse rust holes in the floor patched, the front bench seat mounted in, got the engine from not running or stating, to starting but only running for about 1 minute until it dies (any ideas of a fix for this?)

Some pictures finally

Here is a picture of my quickly made t-case shifter

You should put the Jeep bumper on the Jeep. Looks like alot of work, good luck with the build.
