I have heard about all the issues with Can-am's and I have had none so far. I did buy a $30 trickle charger so that I don't have any battery issues. Can-am only comes with a 6 month warranty but they have a promo on right now that bumps it up to 3 years for free or you can get a free winch or $99 payments, I got the warranty!
Wow love how you think you got a deal there warranty is standard 3years but if you want it cheaper they take off the 3 year warranty and give you the 6 months in lou of making the machine cheaper. So they said they would throw it in for free when really the 3 year warranty is a standard warranty for a bomb. They tried all that shit with me when I started shopping for a quad I caught on quick on how it they worked and was one of the reasons of many others that I didnt buy one like there shitty frames and water problems.

How much weight did you save by removing the front rack?
I had to add a gas can and rack and a chainsaw to keep my front end down there's so much power!

No you are wrong! Can-am's warranty is 6 months long. You can get a 12, 24 or 36 month BEST Warranty that extends your factory warranty. Check out there add it clearly says
6-MONTH BRP LIMITED WARRANTY
PLUS 30-MONTH B.E.S.T.
EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT
http://www.can-am.brp.com/NR/rdonlyr..._Winter_CA.pdf

It also says in the owners manual that the warranty is only 6 months long!!

"This warranty will be in effect from the date of delivery to the first retail consumer
or the date the product is first put into use, whichever occurs first and for a period
of:
SIX (6) CONSECUTIVE MONTHS, for private use or commercial use owner"

The reason I made the comment, is because I own both machines.
Don't get me wrong I like my Sportsman 850, but it's just to heavy.
