l guess we shouldnt put 2 straps together with a shackle in the middle

ive done it tons.. f both starps r in good shape.. shouldnt be a problem..

for the big tows i have a BIG rope..

I think that was the problem, they thought the straps were good to go But how many pulls can you get from a strap over it's life? Just a thought.

No point going over what they should of done. Shit happens nothing you can do. As long as we learn from this so hopefully it doesn't happen again that should be the main concern

I would take some time but I don't think thats the best choice buddy.

i dont know well see what happens ........but it might be a while b4 i even think about pulling someone......and right now im looking into a tug boat rope....i had one b4 and works great.....

ya i talked to the guy the owns a boat shop and he might have some and if not then im going to go the the tug boat company on the pitt river.....

I use crane rigging straps....I also use kevlar straps.

Its not just the straps that break. I let Mat pull a guy out once, and his tow hook on his truck broke and shot back at the Pumpkin. It put a two inch slice on the bottom of my gas tank, which is 1/16 steel. If that had gone higher and through the back window, well you see where I'm going with this. After that we only did small pulls, anything stuck bad was winched out, with me and Mat standing clear.
