LJ build

So after a year of looking for a motor, and coming up short, I finally bought myself a toyota pickup with a rotted frame to be a donor.

doing the full drivetrain swap with 22R engine, 5spd, t-case, 4.10 diffs, and for now using the longer yota springs. Hopefully be starting in a couple days and comondeering the shop.
I'm hoping to run a 37" tire min, and possibly up.

If anyone has any suggestions or input (aside from bashing) I'm all ears.
I'm going to try and keep up with pics and progress

I'm also selling the leftover parts from the yota, basically a rust free single cab with slider.

looking for ideas on suspension if not too elaborate been thinking coilovers with 4link/3link, or ??? haven't done that setup yet.

Brent

About a year ago I threw out 2 of the .8l, sorry, but Mine is going the same way. Putting that motor in your frame will suck. I tried. I wound up taking a swb toy frame, cutting out 24" under the cab and dropped the lj on it. I'm still not liking it, so when the shops built I think I'm going to just build a complete new frame for it. It's just too dam narrow from the factory.

If your not determined to do this, have you thought about a motor from a turbo sprint? 1L and balls to the wall.

you found the frame too narrow?

there seems to be lots of room, I've got a fab shop, and square tube bender, I can always cusomize a bulged front end. the thing I'm worried about is body clearance (height of hood, and width of tunnel) I don't really want to make a body lift for it.
owen, what's been your experience?

I know, its alright, gonna re-do the front bar, I'm not into the cattle guard...

if its going to sit on 37+'s I think I can drop the whole drivetrain without too much issue. just a couple nice skids underneath (not that its gonna hang up, but never know
