i took out the nut that i think holds the shifter in place(similar to a top-loader) and managed to get it un-stuck.i guess there are bushings or somethin that are worn out.

Is there a tab broken on the end of the shifter, had a chevy (top loader transmission) do that and it was just the shifter itself. I dunno if SJ stuff is similar. Mine would unlock after kicking it for awhile then it locked up solid and had to fix it.

I got a stock 82 transfer case if you need one, would have to send it on the bus.

apparently running a sj t-case and a sammy 5 speed gives me a pretty good ratio. i got a busted up case that im gonna rob parts from and hopefully it will work.
