I'm looking to get an electric basher, will probably leave it stock with maybe a faster motor. How do you guys like 'em?

That's all.

Mine started life as a 2wd. the 2wd's have a front drive axle, but no driveshaft or tcase....

Mine's still got the stock front axle but with tmaxx driveshafts and a t-case now

I would also say the axial ax10 is the way to go. the most crawling/comp. ready crawler kit you can buy. Especially for the cash, if your going to be making a crawler out of a Wheelie king.. well .. its good for beginner experience to learn to make your own crawler. but time/money wise you would probably loose. unless your buying the truck for what it was build for/. wheelies/ i had one for about 10 minutes and took it back. to make it into a decent crawler it needs a few mods. different motor, reduce the gearing, drive shaft, i heard its pretty weak truck too but i didn't have it long enough to break it so i couldnt say.

Buddy of mine just got one of those.

It doesn't come with any of the electronics like the remote control or servos though. He had all that stuff left over from a past project to make it run.

those f350 highlifts are wicked neat trucks, most realistic trucks id say, neat trucks if you want to keep the cabaility = to scale.
i mean, if you take one of these home made crawlers and bring them up to full size real life scale, well., you could drive over a frikin house..

Any high quality rc more than likely won't come with electrics because the buyers of the top end toys are picky and won't be happy with a kit.Any rc shop will build a kit to suit and it is usually a little cheaper than buying a piece here and a piece there and you get exactly what you want or can afford.
I have always delt with Rc pitstop and Wes is the man when it comes to these mini money pits.

I'm not exactly looking for a crawler, just a good basher until I have time, space, and motivation to make my Tmaxx go again.

The Tamiya F350 is cool, but I don't have servos or electronics to make it go. Or the know-how to build it right and make it look cool.
