dont put it to high on the tree...

My dad and grandpa made one and used me to "test" it...was way to friggen high... the put tires at the end and I bounced off them and my face ran along the cable for about 4-5 feet...... it hurt....I was out cold (I fell and hit my head really hard) and I had the dumbest marks down my face for a long time.....

maybe he shouldnt have pushed me that hard just to "test" it

I rode a 400 meter long, 150 meter high zip line in the jungle in Loas, they used a rock climbing harness and a special pulley build for the pourpose. I'm w/ redman on this one, I think MEC would carry the stuff and after repeatedly risking life and limb i wouldn't cheep out on the equip. They also used a secondary safty line run off the harness and loosly attached to the line via a large steel carabiener. I was planing on building a similar one when I get home. The nice thing about building a zip line in BC is that you don't run the risk of having monkeys on the line =)
