carb issues

the mighty SJ is in dire need of a carb re-build. its got a pony carb and i can't find any numbers on it anywhere.the only thing i can see is 'Changwong' make in korea.Anyone have any ideas???

be reeeaaaly carfull with the gasket, just take the top off and clean er out.

it took me forever to find that carb....I got it off a guy on this board for 600$ less than lordco was asking
I just asked for a hyndai pony carb....

If you can find one at a wrecker it might be cheaper and easier than a rebuild....

thanks.i'll give dan a call.lordco only lists 2 hyundai carb kits,none specificaly for a pony,so i got a 50/50 shot

mannnnn dont buy a pony carb new, im the guy on this site that sold one to deedee, go to the wrecker and find a hyundai pony and pull the carb, took me like 10 minutes and was only 15$ or something like that

So, why is it that so few people go FI on their 1.3s? I don't think it could be that hard to grab an FI setup from a MK2 1.3L swift...? way cheaper than a 600 dollar carb..

Also, it's not like the mk2 1.3s are rare or anything..


1.3L SOHC I mean, the DOHCs are a little rarer and are set up a little different I think.
