Its worth stoppin in at !

I dont know what the camping would be like as theres not mush room ! You can take the branch roads before Kenyan and get to a vantage point lookin down on it -Nice view !

Ive also heard the bugs at kenyan are bad this year so take lots of repellant

Hope this helps -bruce

If you're going to try fishing, try trolling a dry black fly or mosquito pattern in fron of the island and around to the ends. (providing you have a bellyboat/boat) Usually produces well with sizes from 8-12" Not too many huge fish in the lake, though I have heard of some in the 18-20" mark. Apparantly the big ones sit deep in the center, may be worth dropping a worm down?

You will have to walk the boat down, The buggy may make it I had a hell of a time getting out, fully locked, The bugs are horrible and the fishing is pretty slow and deep. I had decent luck with a flasher and worms deep around the center. Its a disgusting mess from the weekend. I took out what I could, But the island was still really bad.

Last I heard it was pretty rough the last few hundred feet. The "boat launch" is just a trail large enough to CARRY your boat in. Not too far a walk but bring some rubbers as it can be mucky and hard to stay dry carrying a boat. I've taken my 12' in the back of a pickup, no prob, but roads change quick so I can't say for sure now.
Good luck & be sure to let us know how you make out.

hmm, that sounds like a challange. I'll be heading up w/ a dirt bike and a quad, the quad has a winch, and i don't mind getting wet/dirty. maybe I'll take the front cover off the buggy so i can clean up some of the garbage up there if we end up up there. they way I drive that buggy I'm sure i could make it haha. will make sure to get pics... and the boat only weighs 100 lb or so. extremely light aluminum boat
