If you call S.P.C.A, they'll either make a call for who's sposed to take care of the issue, or come out themselves. They'll tranquilize the lil guy and relocate him to where he'll be happy.

Best to call the conservation officer (game warden). Bears can be bad news man especially in an area where there are kids.

they only do that if it is deemed cost effective and feel the bear has not been habituated.
Bears are a bit of a problem because they very quickly learn that people can be a good source.(fed bear is a dead bear) The best thing for that bear would be to completly fear humans so it stays away from anything associated with them (check to see if you can use deterents in you area bear bangers etc) . It sounds mean but in the long run it is better for it. The weather this year has been pretty goofy so it seems to have screwed alot of the bears normal feeding areas which has made them search elsewhere for . At 120lbs the bear would be a young adult it might be its first year away from mama

here is a link to some deterents (they are in alberta)

Man you are all lying to yourselves if you think a co or the spca are going to help the issue , I personally know what happens to them if you call them in , they have a better chance of finding thier way back on thier own , you call they Die !!!! too many times have I seen it ,I tattoo a couple of co's and they say that over 85 -90 % of them end up being put down .. so you make your choice.. Cost of capturing sedating and then relocating to a inimum of 50 miles from anywhere versus one shot .. you tell me what is more cost effective.. They dont give a shit about these animals... They have been here way longer than us and should be here way after we are gone....

Just putting that out there

Different worlds, what are you gonna do in a populated area, you shoot, you get in trouble, doesn't leave much choice, call the CO and he does what he has to. I hate seeing animals put down for no reason but the bottom line is you don't want them around residential areas. I really thought the CO's would relocate, that was their job, mandate? Pretty sad to hear that they just pop them.
