Welding course in Kelowna area?

Was wondering if anyone knows of a place that offers Beginner welding courses? I just bought a mig welder and would like to make something other than boogers

Thanks!

Yeah, I found some info on their website but it looks like the last time the course was run was back in 2005. Plus it was a little more than what I was looking for. If it's the same course it's 13 nights... I was thinking something like 2-10 hours.

I'll try giving them a call tho, as their website info tends to be out of date. Thanks.

Yes, I'm already getting better. I managed to make some pretty nice welds last night. I'm starting to wonder if I should even bother with a class/course.

Dont bother taking a course for mig, Its real easy just practice get lots of scrap and let the metal burn.

There are a few of us on here that are welders so if you need any pointers or help just ask. I took the c level welding at oc and saw a couple of the 1-2 night a week classes, and you would probably be better off spending the course money on scrap metal to practice.

Okor and RX7_Rudy:

Thanks for the offer guys. I think I'll play with it for a few weeks and see how I do. I also picked up an oxy/accetalyne setup with a few tips, etc and I'm thinking that some general instructions would probably be good before I blow myself up or something. I've heard horror storries about oxygen fittings and grease/pipe tape.

Might end up putting out an invite to come over for burgers and beers in exchange for some quick tips and instructions.

And yes, I do have a machine already. After a bunch of research I opted for a MillerMatic 175 (with gas setup of course).
