I'm not knocking what you are doing, I think its great and agree that something needs to be done. My only concern is that once all the work and money has gone into the place that someone is going to come along and want to charge us for using the it.

to you for all the hard work!
i agree with this. i would be up for a run to help clean this site up! but i dont want to see it turn into some $$ making thing, especially if the 4x4 comunity is gona fix it up!
to you for the effort though!

The main reason I wanted the 4WDABC to enter into the agreements for Hale and Sunrise is to prevent someone else from starting to charge. I think that Hale was a very likely candidate for a commercical stewardship....as Weaver/Wood Lake/20 Mile Bay/etc. have become. The association is the "Agreement Holder" under this 5 year agreement. The "Agreement Holder" is the only party who has the right (with Crown approval) to charge a user fee for managed recreation sites.

I am absolutely opposed to any fees being charged at these sites, and have been very clear in my position with the 4WDABC board of directors as well as the Ministry. In my mind, these agreements ensure that Hale and Sunrise remain free use for at least the next 5 years.

Also -- runoff is making the "easy" road quite interesting. At this point, there are no plans by the Ministry to "improve" or "maintain" either road. I'm happy about that.

Crappers, tables, why not setup a daycare? Kudos for the effort, but without a doubt this sites accecibility must be made more difficult to keep out the morons. Two years ago a guy in a chrysler 300 made it down to the bloody beach!
