I really hope this isn't true. I'm at a bit of a loss for words. I read this thread last night and couldn't respond. I just recently met Steve and found him to be a open, generous, and caring person. If there is anything we can do for the family please let us know. Never forget, RIP my friend.

Well I am sitting here making an effort to not cry ( crying as i type ). I just got off the phone with a Constable McGibbons of the Agassiz RCMP detachment he was the attending officer on Saturday night they assinged case file 06-74 to the incident. The police at this time can not release the persons name, however the officer did confirm that the vechicle involved in the accident was a 1987 Samurai that was gresyish blue in colour with a small roof rack on top. This sounds just like Steve's vehcile. The officer told me that they reset their vehicle counters right as the road turns from pavement into gravel. The accident took place betwee the 27.1-27.3 km mark. The officer indicated that the accident occoured on the left side of the road or lake side of the road right next to a culvert. I was told that the brush where the accident happened is visibly disturbed.

WOW this really fucking sucks

I have not known Steve for a very long time but he was a super guy. It all feels like a bad dream I had dinner with him two weeks ago before the tub night run. Just don't know what to say.

We should build some kind of a memorial for him. I have driven that road many times and seen the few corses to mark where others have passed, never knew it would hurt so much when its your friend.

At this time may I suggest a get together...... a slow run if you will... open to all that wish to attend. Open it up to the 'wheeling community and show Chilly's Family that he was one of us...... and will not be forgotten.

I think Sunday would be an apropriate day.Meet and caravan up to the site. Erect a small memorial.

As soon as we hear one way or another... I will post this in the events area. If it's true..... memorial caravan will be held.

Does anyone have an issue with this????

RIP Steve... you will be sorrowly missed.

You had a heart of gold and were always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed it. The light is a little dimmer today learning that we have lost another really great person.
