So the wifes Subarua STI has popped a head gasket
I've now read the head studs are weak and stretch under boost allowing exhaust to pressurize coolant system and push coolant out of overflow. Hydrocarbons in antifreeze.
Times are real tough right now with Day-Zs leg now this. So I'm thinking it looks like not too bad of a job to drop motor, needs timing belt/ waterpump too so just do that too with motor out. Read use Apr head studs and OEM gaskets and you're good.
So anyone have any suggestions or help for this boxster engine
I mechanic buddy told me the waterpump/timing belt kit would cost him $600 to buy, Subarua quoted Michele $1600 for parts/ install
Haven't even looked into headgasket job
