Boats on a budget?

Hey,

I don't know anything about boats. I'm moving out to the harrison mills area later this year and am contemplating getting on the water. My kid loves to fish, I like to explore.

What should I be looking at for harrison/fraser river running? Can i even get into anything on a budget or is this a strictly rich man sport?

Dingy is the budget friendly boating. Can get a set up under 2 grand.
Dingys are not the most harrison worthy choice though
You want something big for harrison = $$$$$
Haven't dingyed the fraser........ yet

I have dingyed in the Fraser lots Depending on boat I would say a 9.9 motor min on the river I had a 3.9 on a ten foot and depending on current you were loosing ground
But for a novice boater the river isn't a good place to learn
Better to spend some time out on the lakes first
Harrison lake can turn pretty ugly in a hurry too so be safe

ive canoe'd the river with a 3hp no prob but he's right play in the Harrison bay untilll to get comfy with yer boat and its abilities . if your looking to budget its 12 or 14 foot aluminium boat and motor or you can go canoe with an electric or small gas outboard .

That's not the hoarder I know!

There is also ghetto dingy. Inflatable with electric. Cheap fun for small calm water

for you to get out and enjoy the3 water with your kid I would say a 12 or 14 aluminum boat with a "9.9" on it . (9.9 dont need registration so a 9.9 ,15 or 20 with 9.9 stickers will slip past 99% of the people) anything bigger and it starts to cost money just like wheeling
