Funny I know a few people who have been nailed leaving the pub
Friday's and Saturday we towed lots of cars within a block or two from bars if I remember the cops called it the duck ponds
Driving a modified vehicle is a lot like Dwi sooner or later your getting nailed
Some whine about it others keep quiet about it
Seems the cop was fair gave you both a vi Maybe your buddy's truck was deserving a vi and to be fair he gave you one too instead of a fix it
Or they are targeting a certain undesirable type that has 90%of the blame (In the general publics eye)for the trash burnt cars and other crap that happens up
there hand out fines etc threads like this are posted everywhere thousands see it
And bingo less desirable a place to go and cause shit not saying you but the perception people aka treehuggers have of off roaders

Fuck man I got 8 vi's on my first Cherokee, that's why I started trailering it , not a word of a lie, I think it was my 4th vi, I just passed it, was driving out of the parking lot from where I got my inspection done and I got pulled over and got another box 2, after I got issued another one I just backed up back into the parking lot and had them re inspect it & another 130 bucks , try having that happen...the mechanic that did my inspection couldn't believe it when he saw the cop pull me over..

hahah thats fucked...never going to Stave again anyways...seems like the arsehole cops hang out there...just had CVSE confirm your original bumper locations cant exceed 29" ..mine are 27.5" in the front and 26.5" in the back no more broken windshield...crack was less than 300mm anyways...so now CVSE said just to put smaller tires or cover up the 2" that the tires exceed the flares...She said there has been a poor bit of Enforcement up there lately targeting the wrong people...unfortunately they cant do anything about it

Don't see how you say bad enforcement
You have obvious non compliance at the time the cop stopped you
Cracked is cracked
2 inches of tire exposed or 1/2 inch depending on whose measuring
Did this person look at your truck or is this a phone conversation
You should really take the truck in and get a initial insp done
Not wait three weeks take it in and get a list of things to fix
Not get it done in time and have to tow it around that won't save you any money

Source for permit on expired vi?

And you are correct, a crack or rock chip has to be a certain size in a certain spot to be a fail. I cant remember the exact spec.

You can not permit an expired VI since it's flagged in the system, If it is possible and you get pulled over again you will be towed to an impound lot and could face a fine so why even risk. You go to stave on a long weekend you have a very good change at getting a VI.. That's the way it's always been.

you do realize that the VI was blank. not exactly sure how he was non compliant when the cop didn't even know what he was non compliant about.

you must be pretty up to date on VI inspections and what not..so PLEASE, enlighten and educate the rest of us

and why the hell are ya all gettin down on todd? hes been a member for how long? wheels with u all...i dont get it?

are we not supposed to stick together?

i didnt see anyone getting down on honky when he posted his VI.

30+ VI passed out that day...and from can be seen on social media...THEY WERE ALL BLANK. just another cop making his ups for the month...nothing more.

and anyone who knows todds jeep knows that its maintenance is second to none...his drive train is in better shape than most newer jeeps that are wheeled.

So was the crack 300 mm or was it 301 or 299 mm did the cop measure it
Not in bed with the cops worked with them when I was towing
Didn't stop them from ticketing for no seat belt in tow truck
Any previous dealings usually ended with me in back of cop car
Most are just people doing their job
You really should look up the lift laws technically your truck should have had plates pulled and towed look it up
Any vehicle 4 inches over stock height is required to be inspected before going on road and the owner being liable or some other mumbo jumbo
The cop did you a favour look at it this way if you had a crash
Do you really think icbc wouldn't use that to get out of paying and if someone was hurt who do you think is paying for it hope you like Kraft dinner
Theirs lots of things obvious on your jeep no side marker lights or reflectors their is a min size for turn signals those little button lights are not close

I researched all that when I was building my Willys
Because I planned on it being as road legal as possible
But what would I know I don't have your vast knowledge
Of building one truck you've come a ways
since you wandered into a camp of drunk as fuck guys on a stag begging for help in the middle of the night

Read tods own post on what cvst chick told him cover tires he replaced the window but the cops a dick because he saw a few things and sends it for a insp
30 VIs don't sound like they singled him out either
Pretty shure I told honky so don't drive with the doors off and window down
I know I said it to his face: and honky didn't go on about my truck is perfect and the cop had no reason to give it to him
Could tods jeep be driven straight to a inspection station and pass after issued the ticket
Simply no it couldn't even overlooking the over stock height 4 inches need s a inspection rule

So it should pass no prob then, no ones "getting down" on Todd , it's just the reality of the situation really, i would find out what happens with Ed and if nothing comes of it I would throw on some sort of flair extentions on it & go take it in & find out what's what,

Oh, I would mabey borrow a set of good 35's tho before he goes in, I think Todd tires were gettin low if my memory serves me right,
