SOA on Tent Trailer

So after some punks stole my lifted tent trailer ..the Mrs and I were on the hunt for a new , used one...scored a sweet deal on this Coleman in perfect shape, just sits really low compared to my old one and the tires are so dinky

Thinking about to a spring over with a new 3500lb axle. I watched this video below and the guy really knows his stuff...Has anyone done this ..seems like it could be done in a night or two

How Lafonda does a 7" suspension lift on a Tent Trailer Pop Up Trailer

i dont like how he didnt add more material above the rear slipper pad. if it wears through it will sag heavy to the one side. a small piece of 3/8 flat bar above the pad would prevent that. i also think he just likes to hear himself talk.

Nope dont have a torkflex axle...just a straight. Axle..gonna buy a new 3500lb axle with welded perches on top and 5lug pattern for 170$... Was gonna extend shackles for more lift if needed? What do you think..i am not a leaf spring guy...or would new springs be better?
Shes riding lowwwww

So trying to figure out whether to add some lift to the peaches on the axle OR buck off existing shackle mounts and make new extended ones..plan on 2-3" either way WITH the SOA whats the better way and why?

I'd get new. Arched. Springs. Longer shackle mounts. Can flex. Side.to side. Depending on how long they are. I've seen a few. Trailers. Tear off. Lief. Spring.mounts. from. Off road use. Mind u. They weren't. Tent trailers

Gonna box them or gusset/brace the extended mounts..the frame is completely rust free and thick square tube....as for the springs may do that in the future. For now just wanna get it up and bigger tires on it and camp!

why you need a new axle? the frame of that thing will never handle 3500 pounds of load

Its more piece of mind for me...owner hadn't greased in 4 years and previous who knows...rather get a beefier NEW axle with bearing buddies, welded soa perches and be done...especially on fsrs bouncing and maybe smashing a rock...the axle in now will bend..plus i want 5lug
