i was thinking in general like the ones on stave lake
where they have built elaborate shelters and will kick anyone else out if they show up or shoot golf balls at you when you try to come in on your boat
is that what's going to happen there to we built it we own it
but really was wondering if my thinking on this is wrong is all

Ian & Sally Wilson did. They built a cabin and lived in it for one year.

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...erness-seasons

Wilderness Seasons: Life and Adventure in Canada's North
by Ian Wilson, Sally Wilson

The inspiring account of a year in remote wilderness, far from settlements and roads. The authors share their experiences, from the challenge of building a hand-hewn log cabin to the excitement of encountering a moose at six feet.

I would love to do something like that. Only time + money.

The material to build Hale creek was supplied by the Ministry of Forests. They also supplied the barge and excavator to install. Volunteers from the 4wdabc and various other clubs supplied the labour to assemble....

I don't have a problem with permanent structures, as long as it isn't built out of shit and doesn't look like shit. But if you build it on crown land you can't expect to be the only occupant. It would be open for all and if someone else happens to be using it when you want to too bad.
Do a better job hiding it next time...

not shure on the relevance of a book that was published 27 years ago on this
many things and rules on the environment have changed since that time

Elusive little mansion on the mountain or E.L.M.O.T.M.. Was more than a structure by any means. Friends built it we all respected it and now it is gone.....that is all
