thoughts on building permanent structures in the woods

so what are your thoughts on building a shelter in the bush
is it ok to be cutting live trees down to use as building material
should it be a permanent structure or something you take down when you leave
and take your tarps or non natural materials out with you
for me it's a
no on cutting trees
no on permanent
yes on dismantle and take non natural materials with you
maybe I was taught wrong but leave the area as you found it
and maybe I'm wrong on part of the reason they are shutting areas
down is because of people cutting trees down
and generally leaving a mess
and yes bc 4wdrive association build a permanent structure at hale
but they didn't cut trees down in that area
and pretty shure there was permits and ok given to do it
what are your thoughts on this

I assume we are talking about recreation.

No cutting of "live" trees. (don't really care about a little under brush).
No leaving of tarps and other shit.

If somebody built a natural shelter from downed logs in the bush.. i don't have an issue with it.

Unless you have the owners permission whether it be Government or Private property then no for a permanent structure
But there are sledding cabins and similar stuff that can be found around the province that may or may not have been built with permission so then what do yea do
Cutting down a live tree isn't right since someone may own the rights to said tree already and now ur stealing money from them. But cutting down the dead tree or cleaning up a fallen tree if you are in need of firewood is the best choice
But stuff like Hale are great for gatherings and camping out but people have a tendency to destroy nice stuff as we all have witnessed or heard

I think most of us know exactly which structure you are referring to and I agree with you on the live trees and not leaving garbage ect. We have gone down this road with this group before and they do what they want and will deny they had any part in it while at the same time bragging about doing it. (remember the cones)

Now that said, whats done is done and I'm sure come mid august if its still there I'm sure I will be standing under it at some point.
