2008 Sliverado 5.3 is it a Good buy

Hello all, Im just looking for first hand opinions on a 2008
Chevy Silverado. I am looking at buying one this week but would like to know
what some owners think of them and if there are any major issues with them.

knock sensors are expensive, other than that ive personally seen on absolutley beat on for for the last half of 380k and no real issues

When you say expensive , how bad. I believe it is having one replaced as I type this.
I think its basically the same as the 05 but different body style

The 08 body style has the active fuel management. Shuts down 4 cylinders etc. People have had oil consumption issues with the 5.3 in them. Lots of people get the AFM disabled. Not sure about the 4.8s.
