Full Hydro steering / Hydro boost

Anybody know why i couldn't or would i have any problems with the following setup?

PSC Full Hydro steering setup, run through a Hydro boost brake setup.. i.e. using a superduty hydroboost and master cylinder?

I don't think i would have any issues, but i havn't read anything about it either.


I don't have space to run a standard vaccum booster.

i don't see why it would be any issue.....but why worry about a hydro boost or vacuum boost setup? why not make your life easy and go manual

I thought about that, I also thought about using 2 brake masters. 1 for the front, 1 for the rear. This would give ultimate control.

are you talking about just adding the brake booster inline on the high pressure side of the full PSC kit (pump, orbital, reservoir, filter, ram)?

as far as I know Jer the hydro boost will be no issues with a hydro set up the only thing I have ever heard about adding hydro boost is to make sure you have good flow on your returns to the res. The hydro boost will require it's own return to the res.

sounds like more headaches and things to go wrong as well as more plumbing... as if there isn't already enough plumbing with full hydro

meh,
If you see the hydtraulics i work with, that is a piece of cake.

I"m not 100% set on it all yet, i'm looking at options.

the one thing i know, is i CAN'T use a vaccuum booster.
there will not be even close to enough space between the engine and fender wells

I"m either going to run Hydro boost OR, 2 manual non boosted masters. 1 front, 1 rear

Ummm what is so complicated 4 lines one from the pump to orbital then one to the left side of the steering ram and 1 to the right side of the steering ram the other return to tank

And As for ur question there shouldn't be an issue as u would run the high pressure line to the booster first then to the orbital but it would probably work the other way to

I agree with 85chevy but getting your hydroboost ported is recommended as well or you can buy a ported vanco booster instead def worth the $$

wide open designs has been doing a hydro boost kits for buggys, I assume you already have a hydroboost setup currently for the improved braking performance? if not I wouldn't bother with it and just add a orbital and a quality pump rated push the fluid you need for the ram you use. a p pump with a remote resi can added to it is cheap.

I'm happy with my psc p pump and psc 2.5" double end cylinder in my buggy, however I will look to change to a 2.5 turn orbital over my 3.5 turn. arms get tired after awhile.

add a steering cooler to the system and you will be happy.
