your rig and cage may be safe...but are u safe in it?

heres a recent vid of one of the rockbouncers taking a huge hit after
some air on a hillclimb....
a finely built rig that wont crumble upon impact or roll over wont help ya if ur not safe inside it while shits goin down...

wearin a
shitty bicycle helmet..
and poorly placed items(fuel tank, lowback seats etc)
made this hard hit , harder on the driver...
i think he was lucky it wasnt worse...
and cole was able to step in and throw it in park etc.. b4 he mashed the throtle or rolled back down the hill while he was outtait

the slo mo really lets u see what happens on impact.....

Headrest would have saved his head from having to get glued back together

Cracking his head on the fuel cell may have saved his neck from far worse damage....

That thing needs a headrest for sure...

proper head support and a real helmet and that would not have happened. who ever set up that rig should not be in charge of such things. good on those guys for keeping him still though

I agree with westcoaster. If it wasnt for the fuel cell stopping his head from going further back he may have been dead or paralyzed! It blows my mind that there are so few saftey concerns given in off road racing. Every other form of sanctioned racing has head restraints fire protection and and proper helmets amongst other things.
