propane conversion??

hey guys, I'm looking to convert my 91 gmc (454 with TBI) to propane. will the common impco 450 mixers flow enough for a big block?? its a stock good running motor, nothing crazy, used to pull a 24ft travel trailer. I know I'll loose a bit of power but I think its worth it for the fuel savings. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I'm also looking for everything needed to convert, so if you have something lying around, pm me.

cheers: colby

I will be looking for parts yes, but I need to know whats gonna work best for my truck first. I'm new to propane so any feedback will be helpful. what size mixer for a 454? I know I need a heater, tanks, lines, but what else will I need? I don't need dual fuel, just propane. any and all help is greatly appreciated.

^ Yup, CT425, Model E, VFF30 lockoff and search for a used tank since no tanks for available across North America right now.

The 425 is a good mixer but you would be better of with the newer 300a. More efficient, breaths better, and can be mounted with a single addapter directly to the motor.and the torpedeo tanks if installed on top of your wheelwells will not pass inspection anymore. The dmv has determined that having a very structural member that can get hit and transfer the impact directly to the occupants is not cool anymore.
Towhoe well under way.
