Bush grub you find laying around

Anyone else collect edibles while out doing their thing?
Im a big fan of spring fiddleheads and morels... All you need is butter n beef oxo. Bonus...neither of these hurt coming out your nose if end up shit tanked

Other than the berries I know well (salmon, huckleberry, blueberry...) I generally don't. The idea of making a (potentially fatal) rookie mistake doesn't really appeal to me, and I can't remember my name half the time let alone the difference between like 1200 different type of fungi

Just curious how do you tell between the morels and the false morel?

True morels are all one unit. the cap is attached to the stem and the stem is hollow on a true and filled on a false. Its night and day. Falseys are separated from cap to stem. I don't pick many kinds of mushrooms but morels are a sure thing. Just think swollen circumcised member haha

Old slash n burn piles.. Places where there is has been forest fires in recent years can produce a shit load if u time it right. Low laying areas usually produce later season around here
