Quad --- what would you buy.

We are talking about selling off the Yamaha 450 and getting another Grizzly 700. I have had zero complaints with the 700 but want to keep an open mind to other brands. We have zero interest in a Side by side. That is not our style of ridding. We like challenging trails not logging roads and at the end of the day would you want to be strapped in to a side by side with a cliff on one side?

What did you buy and why?

you need to go for a rip w drunkstuff before you right off side by sides as a viable option ... imo ... but that being said if i was buying new it would be a canam 1000 ... and im a yamaha grizzly fan ... ...

There is no way a side x side is going to fit on all the tails we do. They are great for logging roads and light trails. I’ve seen them on the trails and been surprised what they can do but they still have a hard time fitting between trees when they side hill. I would also rather jump off the quad then being strapped in when it rolls down a steep hill. There is also something to be said about being able to get off and push the quad through.

Most people a side x side would work because they stick to light trails and dusty roads. If you have a quad and want to see what I’m talking about let me know…we can leave right from my house :-)

Oh and Drunkstuff’s quad is too wide to fit on even the first bridge crossing on the powerline trails. It sure is a sweet looking ride though

your just stubborn and dont want to admit that a sxs will do what a quad will and then some.

remember this post you made about how you were impressed with the SXS http://www.funinbc.com/forum/showthr...&highlight=sxs

The Maverick is 10" wider than a Grizzly there is no way it would fit through the trails that are being talked about however the Commander is only 2' wider and it would have no problem keeping up to the grizzly if anything the Grizzly would struggle to keep up to the Commander. Got to agree with you on the Can-Am 1000 if I was in the market for another quad that would be my 1st choice, the Grizzly needs to be updated to keep up to the new school ATV's and it also needs a V-twin.
