Good news:
http://www.theprovince.com/news/bc/M...157/story.html

Quote:
B.C.-based Sunshine Valley RV Resorts & Cabins Inc. has purchased Manning Park Resort.
The court-appointed sale of the assets of Gibson Pass Resort Inc. was approved Thursday and the new owners are scheduled to take possession on April 25.
“We are confident and committed to rebuilding the customer service that complements and respects the values of B.C. Parks,” Kevin Demers, who owns Sunshine Valley with his wife Donna, said in a news release. “Our management team is looking forward to bringing the resort back to a higher standard of service and facilities that has fostered wonderful memories for generations.”
Manning Park Resort went into receivership three years ago due to a heavy debt load and a series of poor snow seasons and the Bowra Group was appointed receiver-manager.
The four-season resort shut its doors on April 1 because of financial hardship, but the new owners plan to reopen. A date for reopening has not been set.
The purchase includes the park use permit for the resort and ski operations, as well as the remainder of the park facility operator Manning/Similkameen campground bundle contract. The park facility operator permit is one of many up for renewal and request for proposals will come out shortly. Demers said it is his intention to try and secure the new contract for Manning Park.
Demers said he acknowledges that E.C. Manning Provincial Park, in which Manning Park Resort is located, is a major attraction for locals and tourists and promised to ensure any future development “will be achieved with careful consideration to our provincial park environment.”
Manning Park Resort is located on Highway 3 in the Cascade Mountains, about 215 kilometres from Vancouver.

I wonder what the "New management" / New owners are going to do to improve Manning parks winter programs?
It will be very interesting to see what improvements (If any) they make to the cross country and down hill skiing facilities within Manning park in the future.
