last year for manning park!!!!!

apparently the ski resort in manning park is closing unless someone buys it
shitty to hear skied there when i was a kid
so if your a skier could be last chance to hit it

Hemlock was in recievership but haven't been for like 4 years now nothing has changed except a higher seasons pass but hopefully something happens soon they submitted a proposal but haven't heard anything since though

i wonder why bc goverment does not take this over ? i am not to sure on how it was run in the past so lern me a thing or two please

for one, because its a provincial park, its not "owned" its leased recreational land inside a park, whereas Hemlock is owned with crown land promised for expansion. Ultimately its the province that controls what happens there. There have been many interested investors, but they all want expansion (want to open the backside or "the apple bowl") which the province has never been interested in expanding the land use permit. Nobody wants to purchase a proven money pit without the promise to improve it and turn it around. For reference Cypress and Seymour fall under the same situation. It took over 15 years from time of application and the olympics to make expansion happen at cypress. I have worked in the industry for 20+ yrs and for 20+ yrs Manning hasnt changed at all. It will get bailed out again but I wouldnt put any hope into it changing or improving and the current buisness model is a failure.
