Power?

So my stroker had a hard life(see avatar pic) and has paid the price, the block is scored pretty good, as well as crank and cam(bad oil pressure for a long time).

So my question to you guys is what is a good power plant to run? My biggest issue is I've got all the parts to go with the inline 6( AW4, 231 doubler and running 8.8 and 44)

I can easily get an adaptor to run any motor with the AW4 but what will it hold up to?

There is a built up buick 283 sitting in my shop that would need a teardown and rebuild and injection or do I go V8 power?

I liked my stroker so I'm kind of looking at this right now
http://www.shop.505performance.com/p...&categoryId=34
Pretty good deal, considering I paid more for mine to be built with pretty much stock parts

Or do I go all out
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bn...477016982.html
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/pm...448387684.html

I can have some work done to my block but it's almost pointless, would be better to start fresh. I could reuse my pistons and rods and thats pretty much it, so the block and crank would be cheap but all the maching and everything just doesn't make it worth while

Just looking for some suggestions

I mean really u don't need a 383 now a days a rebuilt 350 can make plenty of power with basic bolt ons. Though if ur gonna go and spend money like that LS1 or even an LS2 like the 5.3L

oil pump won't help if there isn't oil to suck up cuz the engine is on its side.

I'm with Frey on this redo what you had
don't matter what you build it's going to fup
Without oil press
A inline engine makes more torque than a v engine
And that stroker you had ripped
Also the six bolts in no weird adapters or custom mounts
And you bust a mount some one we know probably has it with him

an ls motor or probably any v8 will blow up your drivetrain jj, I'd go atlas and 60s to bounce off rev limiter like I know you like to do. it's only money right?

expect to spend 1500-1800$ on a LQ motor and more for a lower km ls1. my lq4 came with everything. a 5.3 iron block will be a bit cheaper then the 6.0

I spent at least 2000$ on a tune, harness being modified,headers/exhaust all cermaic coated, ls1 intake with fuel rails and tb and a psc pump to run on my motor then an ls1 water pump and spacers to run the pump on the lq4 belt drive due to hood clearances. ls1 oil pan to make a flat belly with improved racings baffle to keep oil in it on climbs and drops.

there is much more

probably 4-5k after everything was done. plumbing aint cheap either

could just rebuild your motor cause it works for you and add an oil accumulator this time to help with oiling and look into an oil baffle for your oil pan

Rebuild what you have.

I have found it to be the most expensive way but tbe most reliable.

LS in a yj and keeping it low easy not really see thread below this one
As for homeboys priceing
I was going to be about 4 grand doing swap into my chevelle
Was figureing about 2k installed in car and running
Including motor but not the turbos cause I already have them
And including dyno time to program computer
And I'm shure that vag don't need a 1000 plus horse

But I do need 1000 hp

I was thinking the same as going back to the stroker. Gonna see what prices are like, I would need to bore out my block another 10 thou and I don't really want to go to 40 over. would rather stay 30 over. which means machining another block to fit my pistons and rods, new crank, cam, bearings, pump, gaskets etc... Thinking the 505 might be a better option
