2001 impala brake lights stay on

I have a 2001 impala and the brake lights stay on only when the key is on. I thought it was a brake switch so i changed it but no differance and yes i adjusted it properly. anyone got any ideas or any automotive mechanics want to make a few bucks and come have a look.
