I think you still have to be extended over the top of the tire - as in flares

yeah still leaves a lot of exposed tire. might get some longjohns until the tubeflares go on. dont want to push my luck with the fuzz. been lucky this many years and the new inspection laws are so sticky

That would work! I'm not going to get carried away though, I have some tube/sheetmetal flares in the works. I've been driving around without for 4+ years. Our cvse guy was in for our annual audit and recommended mudflaps, said it's overheight too, said a lot of cops are dicks and just look for reasons to get you

looks good, i always try and make the frame side bracket run parralell with the frame so both ends are open, then make a 90' bracket for mud flap... just sucks trying to get mud/dirt out when they are butted up to frame.
