XJ steering column

So my column (the tilt steering joint and up) seems really loose. I can shake the steering wheel up and down... Pretty sure i broke something from using the wheel as a handle to haul my ass into the truck, but what did i break? I'd prefer to get the part before i take it all apart... And fix it before it pulls a JJ... I do have a ratchet strap incase tho

Any ideas, is this a common thing i can just pick up or do i need to take it apart to find out?

It is most likely just the tilt pivot bushings have worked loose. Not hard to fix if you have the right tools, I rebuild these colums all the time. I can probably do somethin to help you out as I am right around the corner from Rob.

Animal tinkered with it for awhile and got it all figured out. (thx dood )...

As for me I replaced the clutch fan bearing and that whole assembly, and the 2 pulleys and bearing above the clutch fan... But my motor still screeches, chasing down the water pump next i think...

Was a good night of wrenchin

I know it's pointless to say this!!

Plus the little stub is too short where u connect your steering linkage!!
