Are they shutting it down Just at davis Or right where the gravel begins?
They tired to shut down postil bogs and that same thing happened. Didn't work very well. Couple weeks after they "shut it down" it was open enough to drive a subaru car in there

People live on that side of Stave Lake so they can't shut it down at the gravel start.....they will do their best to block off the entrances I'd bet..

Pretty sure they just want to close off Davis lake Provincial park, which mainly consists of the lake.

This is a few years old, but this is probably what they're going for

That was before it was closed this last time. That was there management plan. Gate it off.

They really had good ideas for the lake, but funding and bureaucracy made it get swept under the rug.

4skin - exactly.

WTF was with him pointing a gun at you??? were you wanted for bank robbery or just out for a ride?? I find that a gross misuse of the officers authority and he should have to explain his actions. Cops in town are not allowed to even DRAW their gun unless it is absolutely necessary and/ or someones life is in danger.
If I was out for a drive and not doing anything wrong and came around a corner to find someone pointing a gun at me and the family I would be really inclined to either run his ass down or jump out and teach him some manners the old school way c.o. or not (self defence of course).....

Very sad news the lake is being shut down as well. Its my kids absolute favorite place to camp and play in the summer, and their too young yet to hike in with us with gear, so I guess we'll have to find a new place to play where the waters warm.
We hauled at least 6 full garbage bags out this summer , doing a bit of a cleanup every time we went, Ill bet the gov doesnt have a plan to pick up ANY of the garbage left down there from the hikers, and now that no trucks are allowed who is going to haul garbage out on foot?

Just curios though, If theres no plates on the truck how would they ticket you?? And how would they attempt to tow out a truck?? Getting through the trees on the short route would be pretty impossible towing a truck behind.
