Why does it always seem?

Like its the Jeep guys.

Don't get me wrong, as much as i bag on jeeps, its all in fun

But when you see some idiot up on the trail, or in the woods he / she is always in a jeep?

Last friday, me and my brother in law decided at the last minute to go find some snow.
So, we threw on my front bumper and mud flaps and headed up to elbe area / copper creek.
We drove for a while and the road was fine, when i hit about 8" of snow i aired down and turned in teh hubs.
We drove up around the corner and there was a jeep in the middle of the road pointing down hill.
As i got closer i saw he was trying to backup and his tires were spinning. then on closer review i noticed his winch cable was pulled out.
I drove up to the guy and asked if he needed any help, he started going off on how bad the roads were and said that i shouldn't have any problem on my "35's" ( have 38's)
I kind of snickered a bit, and just said, i'm not worried.

So, the story is, him and his son were up trying to get a utility trailer full of snow to take back to tacoma. (he had a tiny trailer with him but was disconnected and about 50' farther up the road.

I assesed the situation and then asked him, how much air are in your tires? he replied, 30lbs.. HOLY CRAP!

I start to disconnect his winch which was around a tiny little tree dug in about 2" because he failed to use a tree saver.
His brand new winch and winch line was a complete ball inside the drum.
I told him to just leave it, the cable is jacked. and started wrapping his cable around the bumper.
He started to reel it in!!! i told him, dude.. we don't have time for this that cable is jacked and your going to cause damage to your winch.. bla bla bla..
He was very hisitant to listen but i explained to him, we do this all the time and please listen.

So, i told him to air down his tires, to which he replied, I don't like how it drives when i go lower than 20PSI.. wow...

I told him he can safely air down those tires to about 15 lbs then just fill up in ashford.

I aired down his tires and to about 13-14 lbs and told him to backup and get his trailer. To which he replied, but i'm stuck.. Should i use 4 hi or 4 lo.
I told him, doesn't matter. just backup.

he put it into gear and just drove backwards.. He was like.. WTF? wow, thats like magic.. bla bla bla.

so anyway, we connected his trailer and he drove off with a thank you.

This guy was up there screwing around in the snow, without a shovel, without knowing the vehicles limitations, without knowing anything about driving in the snow. BY HIMSELF!!!
I hope he learned a valuable lesson, because if i had not just gone up there he would have been there for a very long time.

In anycase, we found snow.. got into about 3 feet of it.. But since I know my limitations, I told my brother in law, hey lets turn around before i get stuck and have to get teh shovel out.
It was a nice relaxing day.

Jeeps should come with a warning lable, if your an idiot, don't buy me.!!!!

The JEEP name instills confidence in un-educated people. i see people stuck all the time, not always in jeeps.
