they are not allowed to shoot from a vehicle . (you have just witnessed unethical and it cannot be unseen )

I hunt with Native fellows also and they have total respect for the game rules and regs.

if you see the people shooting from the back of a vehicle again you should really advise the LEO's

this is simply what to aim for and i think everyone on FIBC can agree that they try thier best to adhere to these simple guidlines and folks that dont can hardly call themselves hunters.

1. Obey all applicable laws and regulations. - this is a no brainer and simple to understand
2. Respect the customs of the locale where the hunting occurs. - this does not mean get drunk and shoot out the back of a PU
3. Exercise a personal code of behavior that reflects favorably on your abilities and sensibilities as a hunter. - dont shoot past what you would practice at or extend yourself past your abilities
4. Attain and maintain the skills necessary to make the kill as certain and quick as possible. - Practice your shooting skill ,shot placement bush craft etc as you owe it to yourself and the animal to do the best job you can do.
5. Behave in a way that will bring no dishonor to either the hunter, the hunted, or the environment. - dont be a yahoo ,slob hunter ,leaving garbage junk or fires burning etc...

I am all for native hunting rights but if they what to claim them grab their home made hickory bow with their home made sharpened rock tipped arrow with a burning stick for light , off the back of an unsaddled horse fill your boots hunt day or night. But if your going to use a high powered riffle and a ATV or truck then they should have to fallow the same rules as everyone else. But thats just my opinion.

They (the one band I'm talking about) won the right I court to hunt at night with high powered spotlights because their ansestor use to hunt my candle light. They argued and won the right to "update" this practice with today's technology.

I did see them in the back of a pick up standing up and holding guns while hunting but I didn't see them take the shot. They might have got out

We certainly heard them shoot up the country side at night

Pretty close to what my friends have said also, if you want to hunt traditionally then by all means do so but no double dipping (dont diminish old traditional ways with introduced non native ways).

Like it or not though there are seperate sets of rules for many classes or groups of people in Canada so just because one group ignores the rules regs etc it does not give another person the right to ignore them also.

thats like saying that because one person does something illegal that it entitles you to do something illegal also.

(Picture this in your moms "your in trouble " voice)

if little Johnny jumped off the bridge should you?

Seriously though this was more guidlines meant for the new folks getting into hunting and not for the old folks that know better and allready follow these basic guidlines.

I totally agree, you can only control what you do. Set a good example for the people you have an influence on ie. family and friends. If we respect the privillages we have they will still be there for our kids, if we dont we will lose those privillages then we all lose.
