Out with 302 and in with 300-6??

My neighbor wants to buy a 1991 F150 that has a blown up 302 yet wants to know if he can take the 1988 straight 6 from his F150 truck and put it in the one with the 302. Both are standard and EFI. I've never done a switch like this and told him the wiring harness may cause problems.... Is it more trouble then its worth?

cables, air box, mounts l am guessing, harness, computer, and thats just off the top of my head. l was looking into doing that when l had to change my engine and decided that it was not worth it.

the 300 makes just about the same power as the 302 but more torqu
worth doing depends on the trucks condition
all the parts will swap between the trucks so its doable

It only makes about 5 lb-ft more torque then the 302 but about 20 less hp.

Thanks for the help. My biggest concern is the wiring and elewctronics for the efi, what needs to be switched so the truck knows theres a 6 in there vs a 8?
