The camp fire bans will come to BC and Washington soon enough.

Oregon was crazy in the middle of summer. I was camping in a dry field under some trees at a State campground and they allowed fires in the burning ring. I'm looking at all the dry grass around me and sunshine all day and I was floored. It can be pissing in BC and campfires are banned. WA is not much better.

WA was good all last year. They do it based on the spot where you want the fire. They don't carpet ban. For instance if you go to Baker Lake, the first area might have a sign up saying "no fires to dry". Then you drive literally 1 mile up the road to the next site which is maybe more shaded and not so in the sun, and it will say "fires okay". I think they just have more resources at their disposal to monitor the fire situation than the gov up here gives us.

Well definitely more resources down there. Hell some of their County Campgrounds are better equipped than our Provincial ones.

good to know about the different area in WA. Planning a trip in June to the Washington coast.
