That scene is made to look a whole lot worse than it really is. If you watch from where Clarkson starts to pass all of the near drop off scenes are done from the Rang Rover side only. When they cut back to where both vehicles are in the shot you can see there is a grass verge on this side of the Range Rover when the zoom in its suddenly on loose gravel. Not saying its a bad spot to pass but with clever camera angles and editing they made it a whole lot worse than it really was.

yeah I think all those shows like this, Ice road truckers and that new one about flying in Alaska all have to add or they would not be worth watching

I enjoy Top Gear a great deal. It is fairly entertaining not only the little productions they put on like burning down and destroying a Caravan (Camping Trailer) but the North Pole expedition etc.
