considering engine tranny swap

i have a 88 D100 (2whl drive) and its got the V6 motor and auto 3spd tranny.. Im defenatly NOT a dodge guy and would like to get some ideas of what the best engine/tranny swap would be for this truck? Im not lookin for a bigblock, But i do need more power then wat i got now.. just going over mission brdge it looses speed and i must have it floord to keep 90/100km/h. Any suggestions on a good swap ???

get a 318 if you want fuel mileage and reliability. just make sure you change the oil pump before you install it to your truck as they seem to be the weakest part of the motor.

if you don"t care about fuel economy to much get a 360.

either way you go your gonna need to get the computer from the truck you get the motor from, and your gonna need to change tranny's also which will probably lead to the need for a shorter driveshaft.
