Damn tire shop NEW INFO

I bought 5 brand new tires for my Sidekick, the spare was mounted with the wrong threaded nuts. I went to wash the Sidekick, so when I removed the spare, one of the mounting studs snapped right off. The other 2 nuts were pulled off and the studs were stripped because of the wrong threads on the nuts. It cost me $50 for a new tire carrier, I m not very happy about that kind of service. I am going to call the shop and see what I can arrange.

I got a call from the tire shop this morning, they said they have my reimbursement cash waiting for me. I wanted to try the diplomatic approach first, the only mud I really want to sling is with the Kick.
Happy wheelin'.... SK

I am bringing the old carrier in to their shop tomorrow, I hope to have it resolved then.

The seller had taken the lug nuts off and misplaced them when I bought the Kick, so the spare was in the back seat. When I went to the tire shop. I bought 5 new tires and had them mounted. Since there were no lug nuts on the carrier, they found some in the shop. The spare was never rotated and has been on the carrier since. Once I went to wash the Kick, I decided to do under the spare because I could see mud and crap from wheelin".
I used the small wheel wrench from under the seat to loosen the lugs to remove the tire when the stud just snapped. I removed the others to see that the threads were different and the studs were stripped.

Sounds like its a good place then. Everyone fucks up once in a while, as long as they don't make a habbit of it.

The tire shop is a well known with branch offices all over the province. They could have dragged out the process, but instead, I get a refund the next day. When I bought the offroad tires for my Suzuki, they said I get free tire rotation, free flat repair.
The way I handled it was better than ranting and achieved a positive result for both parties.
