better tranny upgrade

So i figure that it is only a matter of time before my tranny blows what i would like to know is what can i replace it with that is better. what would bolt in fairly easy . right now it has the stock 5 speed and stock tcase . so do you think it would be better to rebuild the tranny tough or swap it for better one??? any suggestion are gooder by the way it is a 91 s10 on 36"

the stock 5spd that is behind the 4.3L are the same as the 5spd behind a 305. so the tranny is more then strong enough and a 231 is the tcase that should be behind your tranny. I would say freshen up your tranny and if you are wanting a simple upgrade put a 241 from a rubicon has a 4-1 ratio
