95 t-case issue

Buddy has a 95 cheyenne 3/4 ton 4x4 with shifter on floor. Will not shift into 4h or 4l because he says there is burrs on the gears! Does that make sense? Will an early np208 or np205 bolt up to the tranny in this truck? He has the 4l80e tranny I believe, definetly not the 700r4.

no, they won't First of all, your driveshaft will be on the wrong side. There's a lot of other problems, but that's kinda a biggy.

Is the linkage working?? does it make any noise when u try? sounds kinda odd. Is it apart? What did he do to it the last time it was in 4 HI?

I believe the shifter works on a module and there famous for burning out just a thought
