One thing guys that should be mentioned IMO is the key role that Steve Dillon and others at the 4WDABC played in getting this done and if we could all show our support by joining the association.

One way that helps their effectiveness is strength in numbers and I for one think the way the key programme is set up right now is great, anyone can go in and get one, you dont HAVE to be part of any club or organization but for the most part (I hope) the people wanting one will respect the trails and area up there...

Thanks 4WDABC for your efforts

They might have had a key, who knows. Apparently they were burning pallets on the other side of the gate up close to where the trail starts. Woulda been alot of work to get them there without driving up past the gate.

Anyways ......shitty that this continues to happen.

what needs to happen is nobody post info when they get the email from mel about you know what. everyone clams up about the info and keep it a small circle maybe close this thread and all others regarding the eagle closure and everytime a new thread opens mods close em. I know most of us love the place and are very respectful of it what other options do we have. to many people are getting access. I was reading some posts about not caring and leaving the gate open for others come on guys lets get our act together.

Mel has endorsed even encouraged the posting the emails to the 4x4 community. Besides that there will be a sign posted with all of the same information. So keeping in the info in a tight knit circle is gonna be impossible anyways.

"We will communicate to everyone, without bias, what is the appropriate behavior expected. Those getting a key will read a handout, others have been informed by the group email. Any others accessing the area will be informed by the new sign to be posted."

Dont get me wrong. I see where you are coming from.
I would hope that if many of the keys were picked up by ppl on this site and bc4x4 and bcjeep too, it would be helpful by creating a larger presence of responsible wheelers in the area. Yes....a pipe dream maybe, but ya gotta think positive.
