What axles?

So what axles came in a 97 dodge ram 2500 hd front and rear.

So the front has a tag which is a Dana 60 now the rear does not have a tag on it like the front how else can I found out whats in the rear?????? I think from what that web site tells me I have a Dana 80 in the rear but want to confirm it. Are there any other #'s from the axle that will tell me?

i believe its a dana 80 for the standard trucks and a 70 for the auto..but u should have a tag inside the glove box that will tell u

cant find a tag any where in the glove box but its a 97 ram 2500 manual which every thing I read tells me its a Dana 80 so I guess Ill go with that but would still like some #'s off the diff to confirm it.

80 in the rear and 60 in front ive got one and thats what my papers say . .

sometimes they stamp like 60 or 70 80 on the metalfins on the back axel

under ur hood is where ur tags are diff type gear ratio ect not in the glove box

Ok so next ? if I have 3.54 in there now will a set of 4.56 fit in there with out any trouble????

No. The d 80 splits at 3:73-4:10. You can get a spacer to go from 410 to the taller sets, but you can't go the other way without a special ordered gearset, so I've been told. Last part I've heard about, but not sure. I do know about the split cause I had 3:54 and swaped with a friend for some 4:10 and he had to give up a possi in the deal.
