Questions, questions......

I have two 14 bolt rear ends, one from a dually and one from a 1 ton Van. Can I interchange the marked parts? If so, is it a straight swap or is there anything else involved?

Thanks.......

I do beleive the hubs will interchange, but where the backing plate is bolted to the diff may be in the wrong place .

Thanks Bob. I want to make the WMS closer on the dually rear end. I most likely will go with disc brakes also. I should have explained what I wanted to do. All I could find is that the cab and chassis 14 bolt is narrower (WMS to WMS) than the one ton which is what I have.

there is a 14ff bible on pirate and if the info isnt in the bible there isa thread in the chevy section explaining the possible width combos
iirc (and double check it) there are 2 hubs and 2 housings for a total of 4 different wms widths possible if you handle the brake issue with a disc swap

The Cab and Chassis diff is just a single wheel pick up 14B FF with dually hubs and brakes on it

As far as I know, Joe, the hubs themselves are just a straight up swap. Same bearings and seals just a different wheel mounting surface depth between dually and single wheel hubs.

i believe the hubs r interchangable but ive heard the van 14bff is 3 inches wider than the pickup 14bff, so axle shafts most likely wont be swapable.
