SON Of A F

Now that I got your attention

F150 97 new body style kinda looks like this.

Has better pin stripping now






Got one hell of a coolant air lock.

I've checked the thermostat, opens when it should.

I've changed the coolant.

Ive flushed the system.

Come morning I'll change the thermostat.



Any suggestions how to get the @%$#&@*&@ airlock out.

you need an airlock extractor kit available at most auto supply stores

get it up to temp with the rad cap off. then fill her up after it drops.

My nissan has big issues with this and its how i do it

if running with the rad cap off dosent do it pull the highest coolant hose off (when cold) probally one of the heater hoses untill the air is mostly out, replace the hose and repeat step one. if that dosent work your rad or heater is pluged. i cant remember if those trucks have a bleader screw, check for one of those, maybe thats all the problem is.

All fixed

it was the thermostat. Even though I tested it and the thermostat worked at the time it was still faulty.

But back up and running now .

I opened the upper rad hose and lower drain,
used a garden hose in the filler and ran it for awhile.
Removed the thermostat and waited awhile longer till it ran clean.
I used a ramp on one side to get the cap high
and opened the heater hose till it ran clean.
Waited for it all to drain, closed it all up with the new thermostat and filled with antifreeze.
I then opened my upper heater hose and waited for the antifreeze.
When the antifreeze arrivied in the heater hose I closed it up.
finished filling and ran it for awhile.
Only had one good bubble and that was it.
