Gates - open or closed

Hi all,

Just picked up my first backroad map book and I noticed that there's a lot of gates marked on the logging roads. Is there any way of knowing if these gates are open before heading out on a trip? It would really suck to drive 50 k and hit a gate

Just go with a back up plan in mind...

If you come across a gate that is part of a fence, leave it as you found it. Either the rancher wants his cattle kept in or to run out...
