what's the "best" time to run the trail,spring or fall.i'll take snow over flying protein.thinking sept.not a longwkend...........thanks timm

anytime of year that there isn't a ton of snow, there will be mosquito's out the ying yang

late september/early oct, very little snow in the bushes and none out in the meadows, all the hills are usually clear as well,

Late September there isn't as much bugs, snow in the evening, usually sun during the day,

I go in august, and just bathe in bug spray.

Well when you go 3 miles an hour i am not surprised.


we do the same trip, called the RIPSAW, bugs cant even catch us.

Till we stop somewhere, then u have roughly 10 minutes before they catch up to you
