Well that makes two of us J20.

Jen and I still have allot to learn as well in regards to amateur radios.


For the original poster, go buy yourself a set of FRS radios.
Costco has some really decent ones for a great price.
That way you won't have to worry about all the legal ramifications
associated with amateur (Ham) radios and the licensing requirements.

Thanks for all the info. I did pick up a set of the floating waterproof motorollas on an Xmas deal. I also picked up an Inreach. i seem to land up dual sport riding and jeeping alone ( i know bad idea) but that seems how it works Out.

A proper radio and license might be on my list now. Lots to learn.
