Might as well use salt, would wash away just as fast...

Make sure your house insurance is up to date, move all electronics and expensive shit up stairs. Stock up on beers and jerky. Grab a generator and gas.. Go away and don't worry about it till ya return.
My wife was just tellin me that there is no such thing as 'flood insurance'. I've already convinced her that I should spend the money and time putting a snorkel on the truck

that sucks that there is no flood insurance.. but thats a bonus that you were able to convince to spend them money and putting a snorkel on the truck.

if they would stop building god damn houses and give us back our bush it wouldn't be such a problem. in any new development you can see the water flowing heavy down the roads, shits got nowhere to go so it floods. i feel terrible for the peole constantly getting flooded. and once again am glad i live on a high spot

I agree the best thing to do is move the valuable to storage or higher in the house. There isn't much you can do other than that and praying.

They've known for years about the fraser river dykes in mission, I think it went over about 12yrs ago too. So none of it is new, its just not dealt with.

You all know that it's a flood plain right?!! It will be an ongoing problem as long as we live on it and the rivers flow...........I say a BIG truck on tractor tires, pulling the houseboat is an answer!!
